Danny Simpson extends Leicester City contract until 2019

Leicester City right-back Danny Simpson signs a new contract with the Premier League champions which will keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2019.

Leicester City have confirmed that right-back Danny Simpson has signed a new contract with the Premier League champions.

The 29-year-old, who previously played for Manchester United, had one year left on his current deal but has now committed until 2019.

"Everyone knows I love Leicester," Simpson said following last Saturday's win over Swansea City.

"I want to stay here. I have never been in a team like this. It is such a good group, top boys. I think we are going places.

"I feel I am playing the best football of my career. I am settled and that is down to the manager, my teammates and everyone at Leicester."

Simpson, who signed from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, joins Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan and boss Claudio Ranieri in committing his future to the club.
