Everton's Leighton Baines not giving up hope of qualifying for Champions League

Leighton Baines says that Everton will keep trying to qualify for the Champions League, despite the race for fourth falling out of their hands.

Everton left-back Leighton Baines is refusing to give up hope of securing a Champions League spot, despite the race for fourth being out of the club's hands.

The Merseyside outfit lost 3-2 to Crystal Palace at Goodison Park last night, which has left them one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

"We are not in control of it," Sky Sports News quotes Baines as saying. "We are waiting for others to do us favours.

"But we have said all along it was going to be tough. It would be nice to have it in your own hands but we need to keep trying to win games and stay in there."

Both Everton and Arsenal have four games left to play in their Premier League campaigns.
