Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan is reportedly pushing for the Red Devils to complete a move for Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire this summer.
Phelan managed Maguire during his short spell as Hull City boss, with the defender starring for the Tigers before joining Leicester in the summer of 2017.
United continue to be strongly linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who is said to be valued in the region of £90m by the Foxes.
According to respected journalist Andy Mitten - writing for UniBet - Phelan is desperate for the 20-time English champions to secure a move for Maguire despite his hefty valuation.
United are already believed to have failed with a £70m offer for the England international this summer.
Manchester City have also been strongly linked with a swoop for the centre-back as the Premier League champions seek a replacement for the outgoing Vincent Kompany.
