Sports Mole looks at the leading goalscorers in European leagues this calendar year, with Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres comfortably leading the way.

Vinicius Junior has moved into the top 10 goalscorers in Europe this calendar year courtesy of his hat-trick against Osasuna on Saturday.

The Brazilian winger was the star of the show as Real Madrid put their recent woes behind them, bouncing back from successive chastening defeats to Barcelona and AC Milan with a 4-0 triumph at the Bernabeu.

Vinicius's treble takes him up to 19 goals in 2024, with only eight players in the top 15 European leagues having scored more over the course of the year so far.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland was also on the scoresheet on Saturday, netting his 25th league goal of the year in his side's 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Haaland's tally brings him level with Robert Lewandowski for 2024, with only Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres having scored more since January 1.

Here, Sports Mole counts down the top 10 goalscorers of the year in Europe.
