Andy Cole backs Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make impact at Manchester United

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole backs Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move to Old Trafford to be a success.

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has said that he was delighted to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic make the move to Old Trafford.

On Friday, it was confirmed that Ibrahimovic had signed a deal with the Premier League giants after his release from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.

Cole scored 121 goals during his seven years at United and although Ibrahimovic's initial contract may only tie him to the club for 12 months, he has backed the Swedish forward to make a "massive impact" in the North-West.

The 44-year-old told MUTV: "I'm one of his biggest fans. He's a maverick who speaks his mind and that's my kind of guy. He's a footballer who scores goals and has achieved everything.

"I think he'll make a massive impact here, just with his presence and the way he is. I think the fans will love him and appreciate him. He is a big-game guy."

Ibrahimovic recently committed himself to domestic action after retiring from international football.
