Report: Everton eye Marseille's Saber Khalifa

Everton are interested in signing Marseille striker Saber Khalifa, according to a report.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Saber Khalifa from Marseille before the end of the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League side have identified the 27-year-old Tunisia international to bolster their attacking department for the rest of the season.

Club manager Roberto Martinez's interest in Khalifa sparked due to an ankle injury picked up by striker Romelu Lukaku during the Toffees' 4-0 away defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Tuesday that will keep the Belgian out for "weeks".

Everton have already recruited forward Lacina Traore on loan from Monaco for the second half of the campaign.

Khalifa, who joined Marseille from Evian TG last summer, has scored one goal in 20 Ligue 1 matches so far this season.
