Borussia Dortmund sneak into last 16 of Champions League

Borussia Dortmund leave it late to overcome Marseille 2-1 at the Stade Velodrome and seal their progress into the last 16 of the Champions League.

A dramatic late goal from Kevin Grosskreutz has sent Borussia Dortmund into the last 16 of the Champions League at the expense of Napoli.

The German winger scored with three minutes remaining to seal a 2-1 win over Marseille at Stade Velodrome as the Italians led Arsenal at Stadio San Paolo.

Robert Lewandowski had given the visitors the lead when he clipped over Steve Mandanda in the fourth minute after being put through by Erik Durm.

However, Souleymane Camara equalised when Roman Weidenfeller failed to deal with a free kick into the box and Saber Khalifa had headed off the crossbar.

Two bookings for Dimitri Payet saw him sent off in the 34th minute, leaving Jose Anigo's men with an uphill task in the second half.

It looked as if last year's finalists were heading for an early exit as the seconds ticked down, but Grosskreutz sparked wild celebrations after steering home from Julian Schieber's lay-off.

Napoli went on to beat the Gunners 2-0, meaning that another goal for them would have eliminated Arsene Wenger's side, who finish as runners-up.

Meanwhile, defeat for Marseille sees them become the first past winners to finish a group stage without a single point.
