Bayern Munich reportedly consider an approach for Jose Mourinho, with Niko Kovac's future far from secure.

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering an approach for Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has been without a position since being sacked by Manchester United in the latter stages of 2018.

The Portuguese had been strongly linked with a return to Real Madrid, but Zinedine Zidane was ultimately re-appointed as head coach of the reigning European champions.

Mourinho has been doing punditry over the last few months, but it is understood that the 56-year-old is keen to return to management as soon as possible.

According to Footmercato, Bayern will 'seriously' consider an approach for Mourinho should they decide to sack current boss Niko Kovac at the end of the campaign.

Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga following an impressive run of domestic form, but the German giants were disappointingly dumped out of the Champions League by Liverpool in the round of 16.
