Mauricio Pochettino 'a credible candidate for Arsenal job'

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly viewed as a credible candidate to take over at Arsenal following the dismissal of Unai Emery.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been reportedly pinpointed as a credible candidate to take over at Arsenal following the dismissal of Unai Emery.

The Argentine was relieved of his duties at Spurs last week following five years at the club, with Jose Mourinho taking over almost immediately.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have also dispensed with their manager, announcing the departure of Emery on Friday morning following a winless run lasting seven games.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal's hierarchy view Pochettino as a 'credible' option in their hunt for a new permanent boss.

Reports have suggested that the 47-year-old, who has also been linked with Bayern Munich, will take a sabbatical from management until the summer.

Massimiliano Allegri, Brendan Rodgers, Carlo Ancelotti, Mikel Arteta and Nuno Espirito Santo are all reportedly candidates for the role as well.
