Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly in line to become Arsenal's next manager following the sacking of Unai Emery.

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has been reportedly considered as a candidate to become Arsenal's next manager following the sacking of Unai Emery.

The club confirmed on Friday morning that Emery had been dismissed from his post following a run of seven games without a victory.

Former Gunners player Freddie Ljungberg will take charge on an interim basis as the North London club seeks out a permanent appointment.

According to Sky Sports News, Allegri has been included on a list of potential candidates for the vacant managerial position.

The Italian, who won five consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus, is said to remain adamant that he will not return to management until next summer.

Brendan Rodgers, Mikel Arteta, Carlo Ancelotti and Nuno Espirito Santo have also been linked with becoming Arsenal's new manager.
