Good morning. Chris Ramsey's press conference is just getting underway, so let's see what's on his mind...

On the club's expectations over the next couple of years, Ramsey says: "I would expect that they would think that [promotion will be imminent]. What we have to do as a club is recognise that there is a period of consolidation. We still have to make sure that the club stays within the margins."

Ramsey is asked about the Championship, and he says: "We have to respect the Championship and make sure that whatever happens we don't slide. I would urge patience and I would urge the fans to recognise that we are going through a period of transition."

Charlie Austin has received his first England call-up, and Ramsey says: "Overall, with Charlie's attitude and knack for scoring goals, it was always going to be in his destiny to be in the squad. I hope that he gets to get on the field and fulfill his dreams to play for England. Roy [Hodgson] has shown that he's not averse to thinking outside the box and pick players that are in form. I'm really pleased for Charlie and what he's achieved. I think it's going to be difficult to hold on to him. I hope that he stays."

Sticking with Austin's future, Ramsey adds: "He won't go with my blessing, but you have to recognise people have careers and whatever decision he goes with you have to respect."

Looking at the transfer window in general, Ramsey says: "We know we only have a short period of time to make some decisions. I think that there's a compulsory list that has to be handed in in the next 10 days. Our recruitment drive has to start almost immediately, it has to start on Monday. Before you know it, pre-season will start and we won't have a squad. There's always a wishlist, you look at players and think this one will do a job, and someone else will be better going elsewhere. You have to take into consideration what contracts are in place."

When asked about his team selection for this match, Ramsey says: "You have to respect the fact that [the fans are] going to be up early to go to the game. You want to make sure that you put your best foot forward. I'm sure there will be some youth on show."

Ramsey is asked who his manager of the season is, and he picks the Swansea City boss: "I'm going to go a little be out there and say Garry Monk. He's gone about his business quietly, and played a style of football that is brave. They have players that can execute his style of football. I think that's an excellent club and he's done very well."

On Joey Barton's future at the club, Ramsey says: "I'm not sure what Joey's doing. He's been fantastic in the time that I've been here and he's been a top professional. Agents will always be trying to be negotiating the best deal for their clients."

Ramsey confirms that goalkeeper Rob Green is likely to be left out of the squad because of a concussion.

On morale around the club, Ramsey insists that everyone is upbeat: "Nobody wants to get relegated. If you watch the training and the people around the club, bar the game against Man City, you would never believe that we were in that position. That's the thing that grated me most. Man City can do that to any team, but the way that the players have conducted themselves has been absolutely fantastic. That's how it's been around the club for the last few months."

Ramsey reiterates that he won't just be playing youth this weekend: "We haven't got a wealth of talent. There are some players involved in the squad that are not ready. Like I've said before, I'm not on a crusade to put youth in the team for my own benefit. Whatever I put on the field has to be worthy of the QPR shirt."

Ramsey is asked about the final relegation place, which is between Newcastle and Hull, and he admits he wouldn't like to call it: "I think it's going to be very difficult for Steve [Bruce] at Man United, but miraculous things happen on the last day. Newcastle have a good man in charge, he's trying his best, very passionate man. They've both worked very hard. If my neck was on the line, I would think that Hull have got the harder task."
