Arsenal will have to pay in excess of £100m to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer, according to a report.

West Ham United are reportedly willing to sell Declan Rice during this summer's transfer window but are determined to hold out for a fee in excess of £100m.

The 24-year-old's future is currently the subject of much speculation, as he is widely expected to push for a move away from the Hammers at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Arsenal appear to have emerged as the favourites for his signature, and it has been suggested that the Gunners are looking to sign him for around £80m this summer.

However, according to the Evening Standard, while David Moyes's side are resigned to losing him, they are not prepared to sell for under their valuation.

The report claims that West Ham want 'well over £100m' for the England international, who has a contract at the London Stadium until June 2024, with the option of an additional 12 months.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with the midfielder, but the strongest interest is believed to be arriving from Arsenal.

Rice has again been a key player for Moyes's side this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and three assists in the process.

However, a disappointing campaign for West Ham has left the capital side down in 18th spot in the Premier League table, boasting just 15 points from their opening 19 matches.

Speaking during the 2022 World Cup, Rice suggested that he was looking to leave the Hammers in the near future.

"One hundred per cent I want to play in the Champions League," Rice told reporters in Qatar. "For the last two or three years I've been saying that.

"I've been playing consistently well for my club and I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here who are playing Champions League and for big trophies.

"You only get one career and at the end you want to look back at what you've won and the biggest games you've played in. I really want to do that."

Rice made his debut for West Ham in 2017, and he has now represented the Hammers on 220 occasions in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and contributing 13 assists in the process.

Arsenal are believed to be optimistic of signing the Hammers captain ahead of next season, having identified him as their leading target during the summer market.
