Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo says that his future "depends on the club" amid links with Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo has said that his future "depends on the club" amid suggestions that the Uruguay international could be on the move during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has again been a vital player for the Catalan giants this season, featuring on 30 occasions in all competitions, and he has another two years left to run on his contract at Camp Nou.

Bayern Munich are believed to have made an attempt to sign the defender in January, though, and it is believed that the Bundesliga outfit will reignite their interest this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are said to be huge admirers of the South American, with the Red Devils also potentially making a move at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

There have been claims that Barcelona could be open to a sale due to their well-documented financial problems, and Araujo has said that his future "depends on the club".

"My future depends on the club. Everyone knows that I am very happy here at Barca. And I'm very grateful to Xavi," Araujo told reporters after Tuesday's Champions League clash with Napoli.

The defender played the full 90 minutes of the 3-1 success over Napoli in the second leg of their last-16 affair, which saw Barcelona advance to the quarter-finals courtesy of a 4-2 aggregate win.

"We are very happy with the qualification, we played a great game at home. The support of our fans was very important from the first minute," Araujo added.

"We knew that after our second goal, they would dominate us a little, but we knew how to stay composed. Although they scored a goal, we were very good in defence. This is important in the Champions League.

"Today is a turning point, it's an important step forward. Whoever we face in the next round, we will go all out to win."

Meanwhile, Barcelona head coach Xavi also praised his side for their navigating their way into the final eight of the Champions League.

"We're one of the top eight teams in Europe. We have to be proud of what we did. It was one of our best matches this season," he told reporters on Tuesday night.

"This has been one of the best feelings as Barca manager. We're doing very great work. We're in construction, getting better, with young footballers who have never played these kind of knockout rounds."

Barcelona are currently on a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, and the Catalan outfit sit third in the La Liga table, eight points behind the leaders Real Madrid with 10 games left.
