Paris Saint-Germain to hijack Real Madrid's Paul Pogba move?

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly hopeful that Manchester United's £150m asking price for Paul Pogba will enable them to beat Real Madrid to his signature this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are still hopeful of beating Real Madrid to the signature of wantaway Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to a report.

The 26-year-old poured more doubt over his future last week by admitting that he is open to a "new challenge" following a tumultuous campaign at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid have long been regarded as the most likely destination for Pogba after manager Zinedine Zidane earmarked his compatriot as his number one transfer target this summer.

However, United's £150m asking price is understood to be a sticking point in negotiations, and the Independent reports that PSG are hopeful of swooping in to steal Pogba away from the Spanish giants.

Madrid are reluctant to spend any more than £106m, having already splashed out over £350m on Rodrygo Goes, Eder Militao, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Eden Hazard this summer.

Juventus are also thought to be in the running for their former player, but PSG appear the most likely to be able to meet both Pogba's and United's financial demands, particularly if they sell Neymar.

Pogba rejoined United in 2016 and has gone on to score 31 goals in 135 appearances for the club during his second spell at Old Trafford.
