Manchester United 'to sign Bruno Fernandes next week'

Manchester United could reportedly close a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes next week.

Manchester United could reportedly close a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes next week.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for the Portugal international during this summer's transfer window, while Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.

Fernandes's agent Miguel Pinho is believed to have recently been in England to discuss a potential move to Old Trafford ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, United could sign the 24-year-old next week, with Sporting keen for a resolution when it comes to their star player's future.

Fernandes scored 32 times and registered 18 assists in 53 appearances for his club during the 2018-19 campaign.

United, who have won all three of their friendly games this summer, have already completed deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of the new season.

Fernandes could allegedly pick up wages of £100,000 a week if he joins the 20-time English champions.
