Rodri 'asks to leave Atletico Madrid to join Manchester City'

Rodri informs Atletico Madrid that he wants to join Manchester City in this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Spanish midfielder Rodri has reportedly informed Atletico Madrid that he wants to leave the Wanda Metropolitano to join Manchester City in this summer's transfer window.

Rodri returned to Atletico last summer and has been in impressive form for the capital outfit this season, making 40 appearances in all competitions.

Man City have recently been strongly linked with a move for the 22-year-old, who is seen as a potential long-term replacement for Fernandinho.

According to El Transistor, Rodri has made it clear that he wishes to leave Atletico this summer to join fellow countryman Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

The midfielder, who is a six-time Spain international, has a contract in Madrid until the summer of 2023.
