Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that his side were "much better" during their 6-1 rout of Huddersfield than they were when beating Arsenal last weekend.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised his side's performance during their 6-1 rout of Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

The defending champions ran riot in the first home game of their title defence, with Sergio Aguero netting a hat-trick and Gabriel Jesus and David Silva also on the scoresheet.

The result makes it two wins from two for City at the start of the new campaign, but Guardiola saw a marked improvement from his side's opening-weekend 2-0 win over Arsenal.

"Today was much better in terms of football and consistency during 90 minutes," Guardiola told reporters.

"Against Chelsea and Arsenal we survived more than playing good. Today, attacking 10 players in the box, I think we did it quite well."

City's win sees them climb to the top of the Premier League table, albeit only after two games.
