Everton's Premier League clash with Leicester City has been postponed for a second time due to COVID-19.

Everton's Premier League clash with Leicester City has been postponed for a second time due to COVID-19.

The clash was originally due to be played in December before being pushed back due to an outbreak in the Foxes squad, and Brendan Rodgers's ranks have been decimated once more.

A combination of positive coronavirus tests, players away at Africa Cup of Nations duty and a plethora of injuries has forced the Premier League to call the game off for a second time.

A statement on LCFC.com read: "Leicester City Football Club can confirm that the Premier League fixture away to Everton on Tuesday 11 January has been postponed following a meeting of the Premier League Board.

"The decision came after the Football Club confirmed that it had an insufficient number of First Team players available to fulfil the match due to COVID-19 cases, injuries and players on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

"The Club regrets the inconvenience this may cause for supporters of both Leicester City and Everton. A new date for the fixture will be confirmed on LCFC.com in due course."

Leicester did manage to see off Watford 4-1 in the FA Cup at the weekend with a severely depleted squad, while Everton ran out 3-2 winners against Hull City.
