Vitesse beat lowly Go Ahead Eagles

Vitesse move four points behind third-placed Feyenoord with a 2-0 win against struggling Go Ahead Eagles.

Vitesse closed the gap on the top three in the Eredivisie with a hard-fought victory over Go Ahead Eagles.

Vitas were ahead as early as the fifth minute when Denys Oliynyk managed to slide the ball through Job van der Linden's legs and tee up Zakaria Labyad, who calmly slotted past keeper Mickey van der Hart.

The away side almost doubled their advantage midway through the opening period when Davy Propper played in a slide rule pass for Bertrand Traore, only for the Chelsea loanee to fire wide.

However, the Arnhem outfit did manage to find a second goal midway through the second half when Propper again found a cross for Marko Vejinovic, and the Serbian duly turned the ball beyond the reach of Van der Hart.

The result sees Vitesse close to within four points of Feyenoord in third place, but the Rotterdam side still have a game in hand.
