Chelsea reportedly do not have an agreement to sign Fenerbahce centre-back Attila Szalai, despite Marco Rossi claiming that the deal was done.

Chelsea are not believed to have a deal in place to sign Fenerbahce centre-back Attila Szalai despite the admission of Hungary coach Marco Rossi.

The Blues are facing uncertain futures with Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, all of whom could potentially leave the club in 2022.

With Thiago Silva also set to turn 38 next year, Thomas Tuchel is understood to be eyeing up new names in defence, and Rossi recently claimed that the signing of Szalai was "apparently a done deal".

However, The Telegraph's Matt Law claims that no agreement is in place for the 23-year-old to join the European champions either in January or the summer.

Law adds that Szalai is not even a "player of interest" to Tuchel at this moment in time, with the Hungary international signing a contract extension at Fenerbahce until 2025 earlier this year.

The centre-back has two assists from 21 appearances in all competitions this term and played every minute of Hungary's Euro 2020 campaign in the group of death.
