David Luiz hails special night for Paris Saint-Germain following Barcelona win

Paris Saint-Germain centre-back David Luiz describes the team's Champions League victory over Barcelona as a special night for the club.

Paris Saint-Germain centre-back David Luiz has hailed his side's win over Barcelona in the Champions League, describing the occasion as a great night worthy of the tournament's pedigree.

Luiz was on the scoresheet as he combined with goalscorers Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi to see the Parisians past the Catalan giants in a 3-2 victory at the Parc des Princes.

"It was a great night with a great atmosphere, worthy of the Champions League. The team was excellent this evening," Luiz told the club's official website.

"We hadn't been playing our best recently, but tonight we saw the real Paris St Germain. It was a fantastic night.

"My goal? It was incredible for me. It was a dream come true to score for PSG. But it's only the beginning, we need to keep working hard."

PSG currently top Group F of the Champions League on four points.
