Aston Villa 'consider Sean Dyche as Dean Smith replacement'

Aston Villa are reportedly considering Burnley boss Sean Dyche as a possible replacement for under-fire manager Dean Smith.

Aston Villa are reportedly considering Burnley boss Sean Dyche as a possible replacement for Dean Smith.

The Midlands outfit went into the coronavirus shutdown sitting in 19th place and having lost each of their last five games across all competitions.

Smith's future had come under scrutiny as a result of that poor form, and the Birmingham Mail reports that the Villa hierarchy are weighing up possible replacements ahead of the resumption of play.

Dyche is reportedly one of the names on their list of targets following Burnley chairman Mike Garlick's admission that the Clarets would struggle financially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Villa currently sit two points from safety in the Premier League table, but they do have a game in hand over the teams around them.
