Mauricio Pochettino happy with Emmanuel Adebayor stay

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino insists that he is happy to keep striker Emmanuel Adebayor at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino believes that striker Emmanuel Adebayor can still become an important player for the club.

Adebayor came close to leaving White Hart Lane during the January transfer window, with West Ham United only being denied a deal in the final hours of deadline day, but Pochettino has insisted that he is happy to keep the player in North London.

The 42-year-old told reporters: "We're happy for him to stay here. He is a very important player and we need to provide him with the tools to improve his game.

"Like all players, he needs to train in a good way and I have confidence in him."

Adebayor has scored just two goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
