Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy reportedly stopped Emmanuel Adebayor going to West Ham United on loan, because of the rivalry between the clubs.
Adebayor was chased by the Hammers, Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace on deadline day, but he ended up staying at White Hart Lane for the remainder of the season.
The Telegraph says that Levy agreed to subsidise the striker's wages so that he could leave, but he wasn't prepared to do that in order for him to join West Ham, which was the only team Adebayor wanted to join.
The striker is said to be frustrated with Spurs after they made it clear to him that he was free to leave and join any club in this window.
Adebayor is said to earn £100,000 a week.
