Report: Everton reject Kevin Mirallas, Aaron Lennon swap

Everton reportedly reject an offer to swap contract rebel Kevin Mirallas for Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon in an exchange deal arranged by the Belgian's agent.

Everton are believed to have knocked back Tottenham Hotspur's offer to swap Kevin Mirallas for Aaron Lennon.

Mirallas only has 18 months left on his Goodison Park contract and has stalled on negotiations over a new deal as he considers his future.

Spurs are happy to offload long-serving winger Lennon, who has started just three Premier League games this season, this month as they seek to raise funds to make a couple of their own signings.

The Toffees are one of a number of top-flight clubs who are thought to be considering an offer for the 27-year-old, although Daniel Levy's £10m asking price will likely put off many suitors from a January move.

The Sun claims that Mirallas's agent Christophe Henrotay tried to arrange an exchange deal between the two clubs, but Everton were not interested as they hope that they can persuade the Belgian forward to stay.

After commandeering penalty duties from usual taker Leighton Baines, Mirallas missed a first-half spot kick before being hooked at the break in the 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Monday.
