Kevin Mirallas: 'Everton contract talks will begin in summer'

Kevin Mirallas explains that he wants to wait until the end of the season to begin talks on a new contract at Everton.

Everton forward Kevin Mirallas has revealed that he will wait until the summer before discussing his future with the club.

The versatile Belgium international has 18 months left on his current deal but sees no reason to enter into negotiations with the Toffees over new terms until the end of the season.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "I don't feel any problem with my situation. I've spoken very well with the manager and the chairman, and there is no problem.

"The best thing, for me and for the team, is that I finish the season well. Then after that I will go away on holiday, and when I come back we will talk about my situation.

"But like I say, the most important thing in the meantime is to play well for the team."

Mirallas was a goal-scoring substitute for the Toffees as they were knocked out of the FA Cup by West Ham United on penalties on Tuesday.
