Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba withdraws from the France squad after picking up a thigh injury during a training session.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been forced to withdraw from the France squad after picking up a thigh injury.

A video posted to social media earlier on Monday showed the 28-year-old pulling up after taking a shot in training, which led to him limping off the pitch.

Now, the French Football Federation has confirmed that Pogba did indeed pick up an injury to his right thigh and will not be available for November's World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

With Pogba absent, Didier Deschamps has elected to recall Roma's Jordan Veretout to the squad for their upcoming fixtures with Kazakhstan and Finland.

The severity of Pogba's injury is currently unclear, but he has seemingly emerged as a doubt for Man United's meeting with Villarreal on November 23 following the international break.

Pogba has seven assists to boast from 13 games in all tournaments this term but is still facing an uncertain future as he runs down the final few months of his Red Devils deal.
