Team News: Raheem Sterling leads Liverpool line at Bournemouth

Brendan Rodgers again opts to play without a recognised striker as Liverpool look to reach the League Cup semi-finals with victory over Championship leaders Bournemouth.

Raheem Sterling will start in attack for the second game in a row for Liverpool as they look to end a three-game winless run against Bournemouth in the League Cup quarter-finals.

The England winger starts in attack with Lazar Markovic as Brendan Rodgers again plays without a recognised striker. Rickie Lambert starts on the bench.

There are three changes in the Reds' lineup from Sunday's defeat at Manchester United, with Kolo Toure, Lucas Leiva and Markovic coming in for Glen Johnson, Joe Allen and Alberto Moreno.

As for Championship leaders Bournemouth, they make six changes from the 5-3 victory over Cardiff City on Saturday.

Top-scorer Callum Wilson keeps his place in attack, but there are rests for Steve Cook, Charlie Daniels, Harry Arter, Andrew Surman and Marc Pugh.

Bournemouth: Boruc, Francis, Elphick, Cargill, Smith, Ritchie, O'Kane, Gosling, Stanislas, Kermorgant, Wilson
Subs: Camp, Cook, Daniels, Arter, MacDonald, Fraser, Pitman

Liverpool: Jones; Toure, Skrtel, Lovren; Henderson, Gerrard, Lucas, Coutinho, Lallana; Sterling, Markovic
Subs: Mignolet, Lambert, Sakho, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Borini
