Bayern Munich kicked off their Champions League campaign by easing to a 3-0 victory over Olympiacos in Group F.

Thomas Muller found the back of the net either side of Mario Gotze's strike as Bayern scored two late goals to pull away from the hosts in Piraeus.

Below, Sports Mole takes a closer look at which players impressed as Pep Guardiola's side picked up all three points.

OLYMPIACOS

Goal

Roberto: A night to forget for the Spanish goalkeeper. Made a couple of decent saves, but his performance will be remembered for his mistake in allowing Muller's cross to loop over his head. (4/10)

Defence

Omar Elabdellaoui: Threatened with a couple of good runs forward in the second half, but he always looked unsure who he was supposed to be marking when Bayern's attackers roamed. (6/10)

Manuel da Costa: Battled impressively to make life difficult for Robert Lewandowski before the Polish striker was eventually taken off in the second half. Much like some of his other teammates, the lack of a genuine striker appeared to be a problem for him as Bayern pulled the centre-back out of position late on. (6/10)

Dimitris Siovas: Arguably the best player for the home side. Made a couple of superb blocks to deny what looked to be certain goals and he was never afraid of confronting Muller when the Bayern forward drifted away from a central position. (7/10)

Arthur Masuaku: One of his side's better performers for 88 minutes, but he was caught out of position when Bayern scored the second and he conceded the penalty to allow the visitors to wrap up the win in stoppage time. (5/10)

Midfield

Esteban Cambiasso: Protected the Olympiacos defence well in the first half, but often caught out when the quicker Thiago made runs forward from deeper positions. Removed early in the second half. (6/10)

Leandro Salino: The Brazilian is usually used as a full-back, but he was asked to add another shield for his side's defence. Locked in a battle with Arturo Vidal for much of the evening, and despite battling admirably, he will look back on a chance he sliced wide with the score 1-0. (5/10)

Pajtim Kasami: A passenger for long spells of the match. Prevented from getting on the ball in areas where he could make an impact and he certainly did not do enough to unsettle Xabi Alonso in the centre of midfield. (4/10)

Alejandro Dominguez: The Argentine is always trusted to be his side's main source of creativity, but he struggled to have any kind of impact on the match. Wasteful in possession and never looked capable of helping the hosts in defence. (4/10)

Felipe Pardo: A victim of the slow pace Olympiacos adopted in possession. Looked dangerous running at Juan Bernat, but his final delivery was disappointing throughout the night. (5/10)

Attack

Brown Ideye: Chased down lost causes all night in an attempt to relieve the pressure on the hosts, but he was unable to do his main job as he headed a great chance straight at Manuel Neueur in the first half. (6/10)

Substitutes

Hernani: Asked to add extra pace to the game on the break, but kept quiet by Philipp Lahm as he went in search of chances for the final half-hour. (5/10)

Kostas Fortounis: A calm head in a midfield which lacked composure for much of the match. Looked capable of picking out teammates in dangerous areas, but he was not given much support. (6/10)

Seba: Unable to get involved in the match late on as Marco Silva went in search of an equaliser before Bayern wrapped up the win. (4/10)

BAYERN MUNICH

Goal

Manuel Neuer: A comfortable evening for the Bayern goalkeeper. Always prepared to play the sweeper role when Olympiacos took a more direct approach and made one good save to keep out an effort from Brown Ideye. (6/10)

Defence

Philipp Lahm: A faultless display from the Bayern captain. Excellent in picking out teammates further up the pitch and he did not put a foot wrong at the back. (8/10)

Jerome Boateng: The leader of the defence looked comfortable for much of the evening and he was quick to clean up any loose balls when Olympiacos did get forward. (7/10)

David Alaba: Asked to play in a central role due to injuries and looked vulnerable when he made a couple of mistakes early in the game. Improved as the match progressed to cope with the runs of Ideye. (6/10)

Juan Bernat: Happy to leave the attacking to Douglas Costa on the left wing as he tucked in for much of the match to limit the space on offer to the Olympiacos forwards. Neat and tidy in possession throughout the game. (6/10)

Midfield

Xabi Alonso: The best player on the pitch. Used the ball brilliantly every time he received possession and controlled the game from a deep position as Olympiacos struggled to put him under any kind of pressure. (8/10)

Thiago: An unsung hero in the Bayern midfield. Prevented from having the impact he likes to make in the final third of the pitch, but his movement off the ball created space for Bayern's attacking players. (7/10)

Arturo Vidal: Started his Bayern career impressively, but it was a quiet evening for the Chilean, who was happy to sit in a deeper position to dominate the midfield alongside Alonso. (6/10)

Attack

Douglas Costa: A constant threat in the first half with his direct running and clever footwork. Struggled to enjoy similar success after the break, but stretched the game with his pace. (7/10)

Thomas Muller: It certainly was not his best performance, but the World Cup winner always seems to make a vital contribution in the attacking third. Slightly fortunate to score with an attempted cross, before wrapping up the win with a calm penalty. (7/10)

Robert Lewandowski: Came close to scoring with a header which needed clearing off the line in the first half, but he was unable to dominate the Olympiacos defenders with his trademark style. A willing worker, despite struggling to find space. (6/10)

Substitutes

Kingsley Coman: Offered a reminder of what he can bring to this Bayern squad as he troubled the Olympiacos defenders with his pace and trickery on the break. Won the penalty in stoppage time with an excellent run. (7/10)

Joshua Kimmich: Happy to sit in front of the Bayern defence in the closing stages after replacing Alonso when the midfielder picked up a knock. (6/10)

Mario Gotze: Often used from the bench recently, but his class was clear to everyone with a brilliant touch followed by a fine finish to put the result beyond doubt. (7/10)
