Edinburgh have clinched their second Heineken Cup win of the campaign with a 16-10 victory over Gloucester Rugby this afternoon.
Jack Cuthbert gave the visitors an early lead through a brace of penalties, but a penalty try, awarded when a Gloucester rolling maul was brought down short, ensured that the home side were in contention at the break.
After the break, Ben Atiga made a strong break from just inside Gloucester territory to dash over for an Edinburgh try, but the Scots could not capitalise on their dominant spell as WP Nel was sent to the sin bin shortly after.
The Aviva Premiership side pushed hard late on as they looked for a game-winning try, but Ben Morgan was sent to the sin bin inside the final 10 minutes, leaving the hosts a man short for the rest of the tie.
The result leaves Gloucester second in pool six, but Edinburgh now sit just one point behind them.
