Seattle Sounders came from behind to register a 2-1 victory over Chivas USA in their MLS clash at CenturyLink Field.
The Sounders could have taken the lead in the 14th minute, but the visitors' keeper Dan Kennedy made an excellent reaction save to stop Mauro Rosales's free kick from finding the net with the aid of a deflection.
This stop turned out to be crucial as Chivas took the lead when Carlos Alvarez's mazy run created an opening for Erick Torres to slot home an effort past Andrew Weber.
However, minutes later Seattle found an equaliser when Obafemi Martins threaded a through-ball for Brad Evans, and the midfielder fired a low shot past Kennedy in the 23rd minute.
Torres nearly regained the lead for his side, but his volleyed effort from Tristan Bowen's cross was tipped over the bar by Weber.
After the break, the Sounders went ahead as Lamar Neagle capitalised on some poor defending by the visitors to latch onto Martins' pass to slot the ball home.
Evans thought that he had added a third to seal the three points for Seattle when he tapped in from close range, but the linesman raised his flag for offside.
Chivas pushed for an equaliser late on but couldn't find a way through the Sounders defence as the home side secured the win.
