Scotland held on against Denmark at Hampden Park on Tuesday night to secure back-to-back wins in the international break.
Matt Ritchie scored the only goal of the game in the eighth minute as Gordon Strachan's side recorded their second 1-0 win in five days following last week's triumph over the Czech Republic.
The home side were gifted the opening goal from Denmark captain Daniel Agger, who hesitated on whether or not to pass to a teammate or wait for goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to come out and collect the ball.
During his deliberations, Ritchie swooped in and stole the ball from his feet before sending it into the back of the net, leaving Agger and Schmeichel in an angry exchange.
Denmark's first real chance of the game came five minutes later when Christian Eriksen played in Yussuf Poulsen, who got in behind Scotland's defence and had just the goalkeeper to beat, but debutant Kieran Tierney made a decent challenge to send the ball out for a corner kick.
The visitors almost contributed to their own downfall again when a poor pass in their own half was jumped on and allowed Shaun Maloney to play in Leigh Griffiths, who was through on goal, but Schmeichel came off his line to smother the ball.
There was a nervy moment for Scotland close to the half-hour mark when they failed to clear the ball after it was whipped in by the visitors from the corner flag.
The ball bobbled around the six-yard box and Poulsen tried to get a touch, but it was eventually scrambled clear by the home side.
Towards the end of the first half, Schmeichel was called on to make a save after Steven Fletcher got on the end of Steven Whittaker's cross at the near post.
The forward sent a low header towards the bottom corner of the net, but Schmeichel was alert and dropped to his left to tip the ball out for a corner.
After the break, Maloney created a good opportunity to double Scotland's lead when he cut inside before unleashing a thumping shot.
The ball dipped towards the net, but substitute goalkeeper Jonas Lossl managed to tip it over the bar and out for a corner, which came to nothing for the hosts.
A few minutes later, Denmark went on the counter-attack and the ball ended up in the six-yard box with Eriksen, who attempted a shot, but it was blocked by Scotland's defence.
The Danes continued to knock on the door as Riza Durmisi sent a whipping cross into the box, where Pierre Hojbjerg was placed, but the midfielder could not catch his volley cleanly and the ball went over the crossbar.
Denmark ramped up the pressure and Craig Gordon was forced into making a save as the rebound from Eriksen's shot fell into the path of Martin Braithwaite, who headed from close range, but the keeper pushed clear.
Scotland continued to weather the storm and they were lucky not to be a man down for the final 10 minutes as Liam Bridcutt escaped with just a yellow card when he committed a two-footed lunge on Erik Sviatchenko.
As the game went on, Scotland struggled to get out of their own half as it was a dominant display from Denmark, but the visitors ended up leaving Hampden Park with nothing.
