Manchester United receive a major fitness boost ahead of the November international break, with Leny Yoro training with the first-team squad.

Manchester United received a major fitness boost ahead of last week's Europa League clash against Greek giants PAOK, with Leny Yoro training with the first-team squad at Carrington.

The Red Devils beat Real Madrid to the signature of the teenager over the summer, with the Frenchman moving to the 20-time English champions from Lille in the middle of July.

Yoro made a huge impression against Rangers on his non-competitive debut before travelling with the Man United squad to the United States for their pre-season tour, but he fractured his metatarsal in a pre-season clash with Arsenal.

The 18-year-old has been on the sidelines since, but he is now closing in on a return, with the centre-back able to train with the first-team squad ahead of last week's fixture with PAOK in the Europa League.

"He's been managed very well after his injury in pre-season," Man United interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy said when asked about the Frenchman. "Obviously, it was going to be a long one and it's a big moment for him, that first time he's back in team training. We're going to get him back partially over the coming weeks and look to get him on board as quickly as possible."

When could Yoro make Man United debut?

Yoro made 60 appearances for Lille, including 44 outings during the 2023-24 campaign, and he is regarded as one of the best young talents in world football.

The defender will not be involved in Man United's final match ahead of the November international break, which comes against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Yoro is also highly unlikely to be ready for the team's first game after the international break against Ipswich Town on November 24, which will mark Ruben Amorim's first game in charge of the Red Devils.

A return for the Premier League game against Everton on December 1 will also be a stretch, but it is believed that, should his recovery process go as planned, then he might be available for the trip to Arsenal on December 4.

Yoro's return will be like a new signing for Man United heading into the festive period, and he could prove to be a vital player under Amorim, who will officially arrive as the club's new head coach on November 11.

Should Amorim use a back three, then Yoro could be key for the Portuguese due to his pace.

Which other Man United players have recovered from injuries?

Luke Shaw has made a timely return to training for Man United, with the left-back overcoming the calf issue which has kept him on the sidelines in the early stages of the campaign.

The defender will use the November international break to build his fitness, and he is expected to be available for selection in the early stages of December.

Christian Eriksen, Antony and Mason Mount have also recently returned for the 20-time English champions to further boost their options heading towards the end of the year.

Tyrell Malacia is also taking part in full training sessions, with the defender continuing his recovery from the serious knee injury which has sidelined him since the end of the 2022-03 campaign.

As a result, the only first-team players currently not training for Man United are Harry Maguire, Toby Collyer and Kobbie Mainoo, but the latter is expected to be available for selection shortly after the international break.
