Manager Philippe Montanier has claimed that his Rennes side are not far away from finding top form in front of goal ahead of Sunday's clash with Lille.
Rennes have only managed to find the net five times in their last nine Ligue 1 games, and Montanier fears that another goal-shy display could prove to be his team's downfall against another club desperate to hit their stride in attack.
"I hope our friends Lille will settle their problem after our game," the Rennes boss told reporters. "For us, we can produce a good performance, but if efficiency [in front of goal] is not present, there is no real progress.
"I feel we are not far away and hope it will materialise."
Rennes are currently 15th in the Ligue 1 table.
