Luka Modric starts for Real Madrid, while hosts Borussia Dortmund include Bayern Munich-bound Mario Gotze in their starting lineup.

Luka Modric has been included in the Real Madrid starting lineup for this evening's Champions League semi-final first-leg clash against Borussia Dortmund.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has taken the place of Angel di Maria, whose wife has just given birth.

Meanwhile, Argentine international Gonzalo Higuain has been preferred as a lone centre-forward to his French teammate Karim Benzema.

Hosts Dortmund have named Mario Gotze in their side, despite the fact that it was announced yesterday that he would be joining German rivals Bayern Munich in the summer.

Elsewhere, in the only change, Sven Bender has replaced former Liverpool loanee Nuri Sahin in midfield.

Dortmund: Weidenfeller; Hummels, Piszczek, Subotic, Schmelzer; Blaszczykowski, Bender, Gundogan; Gotze, Lewandowski, Reus

Madrid: Lopez; Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao; Khedira, Alonso; Ozil, Modric, Ronaldo; Higuain
