Marseille striker Andre Ayew has revealed that he prefers David Beckham as a fashion icon rather than for his footballing talents.

Marseille meet Beckham's Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday and the Ghanaian international has claimed that he admires Beckham for his exploits in the fashion world more than on the football field.

"It was not my dream to play against him. I enjoy his fashion more than his football," Ayew told reporters.

"When I was little I watched him doing great things but he is not my idol. He is a great player."

Marseille are currently third in Ligue 1 five points behind leaders PSG.
