Marseille midfielder Joey Barton insists that his club do not fear David Beckham.

Marseille midfielder Joey Barton has insisted that the French outfit do not fear playing against David Beckham, who is expected to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut at the weekend.

Barton, who is currently on loan from Queens Park Rangers, has claimed that the former England captain "is not a major worry" on the pitch.

"PSG have lots of big names and great players. Beckham is a big star off the pitch but on the pitch, to be honest, he's not a major worry," Barton told reporters at a press conference.

"He triggers a lot less fear than when he was playing in the Premier League."

PSG currently top Ligue 1 by three points.
