Portsmouth manager Guy Whittingham believes that goalkeeper John Sullivan has shown he is worthy of keeping his place as the club's number one.
After sharing the duties with Phil Smith, Sullivan, a summer signing from Charlton Athletic, has started the last four matches.
Despite conceding a late goal in the 2-1 win against Burton Albion at the weekend, Whittingham feels that Sullivan has earned himself a starting spot.
"John has the shirt now, absolutely," he told The News.
"He wanted to come here at the start of the season and establish himself at number one and he is doing it.
"As a goalkeeper and defence you pride yourself on clean sheets – and I do feel disappointed for him because, again, he's had a decent game."
Pompey are 13th in League Two.
