Grant McCann has been handed the manager's job at Peterborough United on a permanent basis.
The 36-year-old had been in caretaker charge at London Road since Graham Westley was sacked on April 23.
Having made 185 appearances for Posh as a player, McCann will now take up his new role in the dugout on a four-year deal.
"It's a proud moment for me. I've been here six years now and enjoyed every single minute of it," he told reporters.
"Pressure seemed to bring the best out of me as a player, and hopefully it will do the same as a manager.
"Promotion is definitely the aim. We want to get out of this league as soon as possible and, with a few squad additions, we'll be serious contenders."
McCann is the eighth managerial appointment at Peterborough since chairman Darragh MacAnthony took control of the League One club in 2007.
