Peterborough United sack manager Graham Westley

Peterborough United sack manager Graham Westley after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Scunthorpe United.

League One side Peterborough United have sacked manager Graham Westley.

The club issued a short statement online announcing the 48-year-old's departure after this afternoon's 2-0 defeat to Scunthorpe United.

It read: "The club would like to thank Graham for his efforts on behalf of the football club."

Posh confirmed that Grant McCann would take charge of the club's remaining two matches of the season and added that they would "take time" to find a long-term replacement.

Westley leaves with Peterborough 14th in the third tier.
