Team News: Stephan El Shaarawy on bench for AS Monaco

Stephan El Shaarawy is on the bench for Monaco's Ligue 1 opener away to Nice.

Leonardo Jardim has opted to leave new signing Stephan El Shaarawy out of the starting lineup for their first Ligue 1 game of the season at Nice.

The ex-AC Milan forward is on the bench as youngster Anthony Martial starts for the Monagasques.

Bernando Silva is also among the substitutes for AS, but midfielder Joao Moutinho plays, as does veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho.

Nice offer a league debut to ex-Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, whose move to OGC last season broke down due to an administrative error.

Nice: Pouplin; Boscagli, Le Marchand, Bodmer, Baysse; Mendy, Seri, Koziello, Ben Arfa; Germain, Plea

AS Monaco: Subasic; Fabinho, Raggi, Carvalho, Kurzawa; Toulalan, Moutinho, Pasalic; Dirar, Cavaleiro, Martial
