Willy Sagnol laments mistakes after Bordeaux loss to Nice

Bordeaux coach Willy Sagnol says that he does have to take some of the blame for their recent 2-1 defeat at the hands of travelling Nice in Ligue 1.

Bordeaux coach Willy Sagnol has admitted that he has to share some of the blame with his players following the club's 2-1 defeat to Nice in Ligue 1.

The hosts had originally led thanks to a penalty from Diego Rolan, but Bordeaux threw away three points as they fell to second-half goals from Jordan Amavi and Alassane Plea.

"To keep things short, we tried to play for 45 minutes and then in the second half we completely lost our way," said Sagnol, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"We made bad choice after bad choice, and also poor tactical decisions. It's not only the players who make mistakes, but the coaches as well.

"At 1-1 I wanted to go back to two forwards to try to win the match, knowing we could lose it too. I didn't know if we should have played for the draw and unfortunately I got my answer at the end of the game. I wanted to win when we should have been playing not to lose."

The defeat sees Bordeaux sitting in sixth place in the league table, with 32 points from 21 games so far this season.
