Pep Guardiola has admitted that Crystal Palace deserve credit for giving Manchester City "problems" in Sunday's goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

The Citizens saw their record-breaking Premier League winning run come to an end in South London as the Eagles successfully held Guardiola's side at bay.

Palace had the opportunity to score in injury time when referee Jon Moss awarded the hosts a penalty following Raheem Sterling's challenge on Wilfried Zaha in the box, but Ederson kept out Luka Milivojevic's spot kick.

"Yes you have to give Palace credit," Guardiola told BT Sport after the game. "They are a good team. We had problems in the game, but the second half was much better.

"At the end, keeper Ederson helped us to keep one point. Maybe it was a penalty, the referee made that decision so that's okay.

"On Tuesday we have another game so the good moments you have to react with the best way to do it."

City end the year 14 points clear of Manchester United at the top of the table and return to action on January 2 with a home game against Watford.
