Gareth Barry insists that England will head into Euro 2012 with a different mindset to that of last year's World Cup.

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry thinks that England will approach the European Championships in a way that will prevent the same mistakes made at the World Cup.

The Three Lions crashed out of the tournament after a disastrous campaign in South Africa last year. However, the former Aston Villa captain thinks that the team have a better chance of glory in the Euros.

"Everyone knows the way we qualified last time, the expectations went through the roof," said Barry. "We flew through the group, didn't concede many goals and played some great stuff.

"But when it comes to the business end, the tournament, that is where you need to perform and get that winning habit.

"At the minute we've got that, but we've got to try to take that all the way to the tournament."

England are due to play another friendly in February in preparation for the tournament next summer.
