England score their 2,000th goal as they edge past Sweden at Wembley to record their second friendly win in three days and end 2011 unbeaten.

England have recorded their second one-goal win in three days with victory over Sweden at Wembley.

The 23rd-minute goal, England's 2,000th, was credited as an own goal by Celtic centre-back Daniel Majstorovic.

Stewart Downing's delivery was met by Gareth Barry but his header appeared to be going wide until Majstorovic, who was challenging for the ball, diverted the effort past Andres Isaksson.

The home side dominated the opening period, creating chances but failing to test Isaksson.

Jack Rodwell missed the best chance of the half by heading against the post from inside the six-yard box. Bobby Zamora also fired wide after combining with Theo Walcott.

After the break the Swedes came back into the game but didn't really test Joe Hart as the game struggled towards full time.

The victory is England's first in 13 attempts against the Scandinavians, with the last victory coming in 1968.
