Liverpool dominate proceedings at the Madejski Stadium in the first half but fail to break down Reading.

Liverpool have failed to break the deadlock against Reading in the first 45 minutes of their Premier League game at the Madejski Stadium.

The Reds survived an early scare when goalkeeper Pepe Reina dropped the ball under pressure from Noel Hunt, but the Spain international gathered it the second time.

Liverpool settled into the game and a created a good chance on 14 minutes when Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez all combined, but the Uruguayan's chip was cleared off the line by Chris Gunter.

Coutinho tested Alex McCarthy with a fine effort midway through the first half, before Jamie Carragher headed the resultant corner just over the Reading bar.

Brendan Rodgers's side continued to dominate proceedings, with Suarez drawing out a good save McCarthy again after the half-hour mark and Coutinho failing to hit the target from eight yards on 40 minutes, but it eventually ended goalless after the first 45 minutes.
