Everton manager Roberto Martinez rejects David Marshall link

Roberto Martinez insists that he is not trying to add Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall to his Everton squad.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has dismissed speculation that has linked his club with a move for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall.

Martinez has made it known that he is in the market for a new keeper, with the Daily Mail having claimed that Scotland international Marshall was high on his shortlist.

However, when asked by reporters if the 29-year-old was one of his targets, the Spanish boss replied: "No."

Martinez did go on to reveal that approaches had been made for custodians over recent days, but that "nothing conclusive" had arisen from them.
