Everton 'agree £12m fee with Swansea City to sign Ashley Williams'

Swansea City reportedly accept a £12m bid from Everton for defender Ashley Williams.

Everton and Swansea City have reportedly agreed on a £12m fee for the transfer of defender Ashley Williams.

The Merseyside outfit have been in negotiations with their Premier League opponents in the last few weeks.

A £10m bid from Everton was reportedly knocked back last week, but it appears that Williams's switch to Goodison Park is edging closer to completion.

According to Sky Sports News, Ronald Koeman's club have upped their offer by £2m, and even though the Swans were keen to collect £15m, they have accepted the bid.

The Toffees are seemingly determined to add a defender to their ranks after selling John Stones to Manchester City for a reported £47.5m figure.

Williams has been playing for Swansea for the past eight years.
