Central Coast Mariners, Brisbane Roar play out six-goal thriller

Jean Carlos Solorzano scores his first A-League goal in three years to help Brisbane Roar gain a point away to the Central Coast Mariners in a 3-3 draw.

Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar shared the points after the two sides played out a 3-3 draw, with five of the goals coming in the second half to give a pulsating ending to the game.

Roar broke the deadlock a minute before half time as a lucky deflection fell to the feet of Jean Carlos Solorzano, who kept his composure and slotted the ball home to score his first A-League goal in three years.

Eddy Bosnar replied for the hosts 15 minutes after the restart, with Matt Simon doubling his side's goal tally 10 minutes later and taking the lead for the first time in the match.

The goal continued Simon's hot streak in front of goal this season and was his third in three games.

Defender James Donachie equalised for the visitors shortly afterwards with a header, pegging the scores back to two apiece.

Substitute Kim Seung-yong retook the lead for the Mariners, after Simon's shot rebounded off the keeper and into the South Korean's feet.

Immediately after the second-half kickoff, Roar ran straight down the opposite end and a teasing cross from Dimitri Petratos flew across the six-yard box, only for Solorzano to grab his second of the match and tie the game up for his side for the second time.

The draw sees both teams pick up a point but doesn't result in any movement in the table as Roar sit in seventh with 11 points and the Mariners sit a place below their opponents with eight points.
