Bayern Munich remain interested in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong despite the chances of the Dutch midfielder leaving Barcelona remaining unlikely, according to reports.
The German champions were prepared to spend more than £70m to land the 23-year-old, whom they first targeted when he burst on to the scene at Ajax.
However, ESPN reports that despite Barcelona's need for cash, they will resist any offers from the Champions League winners, refusing to even talk about the possibility of a deal.
De Jong, 23, recently signed a new six-year contract at Camp Nou, and one source close to the player says that there is less than a 1% chance of the midfielder joining Bayern in the immediate future.
The financial situation of the Spanish giants remains precarious, however, and they must sell before they can consider recruiting in January.
De Jong, who has played under three coaches at Camp Nou since signing in 2019, is considered a key figure at Barca and they will not entertain bids for the Dutchman.
